Job Summary

Solicit residential loan applications by traveling throughout the franchise; meet with customers; take complete applications and gather all documentation and information required for loan program. Work with lender and other employees to encourage referrals


Detailed Description:

  • Meet with customers, identify their needs and take residential loan applications by traveling throughout the region.
  • Originate loans: solicit business from real estate agents, bank branch offices, builders and others who can refer residential loan customers.
  • Provide all compliance disclosures required at application.
  • Monitor the processing of customer's loans through the closing process; work with loan processor to coordinate the collection of all information necessary to ensure completeness of loan files.
  • Cross-sell Veritex Bank's other products and services to customers.
  • Attention to regulatory requirements and compliance training applicable to position (Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Information Privacy ETC)
  • Integrity, discretion, and respect for confidential information are absolutely essential.
  • Attend work on a regular basis, on time, and withstand varying degrees of stress.


Education and Experience

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • One plus years mortgage loan origination experience; or two or more years real estate lending experience.
  • Proven sales skills, existing customer portfolio and/or strong knowledge of the local market.
  • Knowledge of loan products, compliance requirements, and underwriting guidelines.
  •  Ability to analyze credit statements.
  • Valid state driver's license, proof of insurance, acceptable driving record and available transportation.

Physical Demands


The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  The employee will regularly sit; talk; hear; and use hands to finger/handle or feel.  The employee will occasionally stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb and balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  Special vision requirements include close, distant, and peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
