Position Summary:

The Commercial Banking Officer supports the Bank’s mission through effective sales and service, targeted business development efforts and community involvement. Responsible for developing and managing commercial banking relationships in accordance with the Bank’s core values and the Bank’s prescribed sales process in an assigned area.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Function/Responsibility:

  • Increase the Bank's profitability by cultivating new business relationships.
  • Maintain and develop customer relationships, new business, and periodic review of existing loan arrangements.
  • Negotiate proper loan structures, selling the Bank's credit and non-credit products.
  • Accept special projects in support of the team and community involvement. 
  • Maintain knowledge of corporate banking, credit and non-credit products, trust, real estate, treasury management and other bank functions.
  • Maintain knowledge of accounting and financial principles, marketing and sales principles, credit analysis, economics and other bank functions.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting or Finance.
  • 7 years Commercial Lending experience.
  • 5 years Financial Sales experience.
  • 3 years managing a portfolio of clients.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven sales track record
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation and computer proficiency skills
  • Strong marketing, analytical and overall communication skills
  • Time management, organizational, and task management skills

Licenses/Certifications:  

  • Completion of a Commercial Credit Training program desired

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Office working conditions.
  • Frequently required to sit for long periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
